The Eiffel Tower

When we were in Paris we saw the Eiffel Tower every day.
It was built in 1889 for the World's Fair.  Pont Alexandre III was built for the World's Fair too.

The Eiffel Tower was supposed to be up for 20 years, but France found out that it was good for communication. They used radio transmitters on it during World War 1.

The Eiffel Tower was named after Gustave Eiffel. His company designed and built the tower.

Here is what it looks like when you're almost underneath it.

This is what it looks like when you're standing right underneath the Eiffel Tower.

They light up the Eiffel Tower at night.

I'm glad that they didn't pull down the Eiffel Tower. It's beautiful!
